Brunswick Mudstone is associated with the Passaic Formation (formerly Brunswick Formation) of the Newark Group of New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and New York.  Occurs as beds with exposures occurring in the valley of Raritan near New Brunswick, Middlesex County, New Jersey and in Montgomery County and Bucks County, Pennsylvania.  Occurs along the Delaware River and along the Schuylkill River.
